Presented as part of Manchester International Festival, this band of top-flight players performs pieces from Real Book North West, the ground-breaking anthology of work by north west jazz composers launched in 2007 by NWJazzworks and astute music. The music is astonishingly varied and the playing energetic and expressive – catch them on this, the culminating date of their UK tour.

Tuesday 21st July: Mask: Open Rehearsal at Contact
Starts: 4:00pm Price: Free
For those interested in the developmental stages of how one of the mjf originals series is devised for the festival, we’re inviting you to drop by and be a ‘fly on the wall’ in Olivia Moore's 'Mask', to witness some of the artistic process. Although this event will not be a full or continuous performance, please be seated by 4pm to minimise disturbance during the rehearsal. There will be a chance to raise questions with the artists during the session.
Performances of Mask will be given on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th at 7.30pm.

Wednesday 22nd July: Ten: Open Rehearsal at greenroom
Starts: 8:00pm Price: Free
Once again, we’re opening up a rehearsal of one of this year’s newly commissioned works to give you an insight into the creative process. The artists will be rehearsing extracts from the work and there will be opportunities to raise questions during the evening. Please arrive quietly to minimise disturbance for the musicians.
A performance of Ten will be given on Sunday 26th.
