The 2008
Over the next few weeks, we'll be finalising the artists for this year's programme, but there are already a host of players and ensembles confirmed in the line-up.
Irish vocalist Christine Tobin brings her new project to the RNCM on 19th; Cuban pianist/vocalist Roberto Fonseca plays the Bridgewater Hall on 20th, supported by Manchester's very own La Gran Descarga; we welcome a double bill of Italian artists to the RNCM on 21st – pianist Danilo Rea and clarinettist Gabriele Mirabassi with his trio; The Grew Quartet and Graham Clark & Graham Massey shake the RNCM Studio on 22nd; 23rd sees the première of a New Commissioned work for 2008, again at the RNCM – Ropes – by Manchester's guitar hero Mike Walker and featuring Iain Dixon, with a 30-piece string orchestra.

You can expect free gigs on the outdoor St Ann's Square stage at lunchtimes and tea-times during the week and on both Saturdays, as well as our regular lunchtime concerts in the Bridgewater Hall foyer and St Ann's Church. There's a special Jazz Services 3-band showcase on the afternoon of the 20th at the former, weekend gigs at the City Inn Hotel, and of course late sessions every night at Matt & Phred's.
