Front of House
Roles include, but are not limited to:
stewarding
handing out brochures
audience liaison (including gathering feedback)
providing information about the festival and the programme to the public
providing information about the area surrounding the venue you are in
selling raffle tickets
filling out audience monitoring forms
Audience research & monitoring
Roles include, but are not limited to:
filling out audience monitoring forms
carrying out audience research (e.g. via questionnaires)
Backstage
Roles include, but are not limited to:
assisting stage manager
artist liaison: greeting and informing arriving artists, helping them unload, taking them to the car park, showing them around
filling out PRS for Music forms
filling out artist monitoring forms
running errands
keeping volunteer & artist cabins tidy
keeping backstage area tidy
Runner
Roles include, but are not limited to:
running errands of all sorts
Flyering
Roles include, but are not limited to:
handing out flyers in city centre locations such as near the stations, Piccadilly Gardens, St Ann’s Square, Exchange Square
providing information about the festival and the programme to passers by
Selling raffle tickets
Roles include, but are not limited to:
selling raffle tickets to audiences and passers by
providing information about prizes, the draw etc
ensuring stubbs are filled out
ensuring money and stubbs are returned to raffle co-ordinator
Driving
This could be in own vehicle or mjf vehicles.
Roles include, but are not limited to:
driving artists to and from airport / accommodation / venue
driving staff or other guests
picking up / delivering things such as instruments or equipment
Admin
Roles include, but are not limited to:
data entering
filing / keeping records
helping with day-to-day administrative tasks in the mjf office (on-site and/or our main office)
Pre-production
Roles include, but are not limited to:
helping out on-site with practical preparations such as painting, putting down flooring, hanging up venue dressing / branding etc.
helping out in the office prior to the festival with adminstrative tasks
helping with moving furniture, materials and equipment from office down to the site
helping with setting up on-site office, volunteer and artist cabins
Post-production
Roles include, but are not limited to:
packing up the on-site office and moving materials back to our main office
taking down the site structures
data-entering & filing
Being a team leader
All team leader roles entail being responsible for the fulfillment of all tasks relating to a certain area of work, training and briefing volunteers working in your team.
We are seeking team leaders in these areas:
managing the box office / information stall at the Festival Pavilion
managing the information / merchandise stalls and Front of House teams at other venues
managing the Front of House team at the Festival Pavilion
